Procrastination

Some days I want nothing more
Than to be a goddess,
Floating on golden wings,
Enthroned in heavenly splendor.
Other days I can’t even muster
The energy to care
About my ambitions.
My shame in myself grows deep
And my benevolent plans
Grow sour
All because I let humanity’s greatest curse
Wrap its arms around my rib cage
And encase me in its syrupy lies.
